Terms of Service
The rules for this website, your VizShot account and buying a license key, in plain words.
Last updated 12 October 2026.
Who we are
VizShot is made and sold by Neel Gajjar, an individual developer (“we”, “us”). You can reach us at [email protected]. These terms cover vizshot.app, your account on it and buying a key. Using the VizShot app is covered by the License Agreement, what we do with your information by the Privacy Policy, and refunds by the Refund Policy. By using the site or buying a key you agree to the terms that apply to that use or purchase. The Privacy Policy explains how we handle information; it is not a request for consent to uses that need your separate permission. You must be legally able to enter this agreement, or have a parent or guardian do so for you. If you buy for an organisation, you must have authority to act for it.
Who you buy from
Dodo Payments sells VizShot keys on our behalf as the merchant of record. When you pay, your purchase is made from Dodo Payments under its buyer terms, and Dodo takes your payment, works out and collects sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipt. We deliver the key and the app.
What you get
- A license key for $8 (plus any tax), paid once. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
- The key can be active on up to two computers at a time, Mac or Windows in any mix. You can move it by removing a computer from your account or deactivating it in the app.
- Every feature of VizShot and the free updates included in the offer when you buy. Our current offer includes the VizShot updates we publish. The Mac app offers updates, and the Microsoft Store updates the Windows app.
- We deliver the key by email and make it available in your account once payment is confirmed. If delivery is delayed, contact us.
Prices may change for future purchases. A change never affects a key you already have.
Keeping your license and future upgrades
Your one-time license has no expiry date. Where we describe a license as “lifetime”, we mean a perpetual right to use the versions covered by that license, subject to these terms. Uninstalling, reinstalling or replacing a computer does not end that right; the limit is two active computers at a time, not two computers forever.
We may offer optional, separately priced products or upgrades in the future, but only outside the features and updates already included in your purchase or grant. We will explain what is included and any price before you choose to buy. There is no automatic upgrade charge, and declining an optional paid upgrade does not cancel your existing license. We will honour any free-update promise made when your key was bought or granted.
A perpetual license does not promise new features, a particular release schedule, or compatibility with every future computer or operating system. Activation needs our license service, as explained in the License Agreement. Your statutory rights, including any required updates, are not affected.
The free trial
VizShot is free to try for 14 days with every feature, with no account and no card. After that, VizShot keeps taking screenshots, but saving, uploading and recording need a key. Each screenshot you take is still copied to your clipboard, and everything you saved during the trial stays yours to open, copy and delete. A key bought later switches the rest back on at once.
Founding Testers
We may invite a limited number of people to try VizShot with a free key. Applying does not guarantee a place. We verify the email address before granting a key, grant keys while places remain, and may pause or decline a request. An approved key has no expiry date or charge, covers two computers in any Mac and Windows mix, and receives the same published features and updates as a paid key. We ask testers to share honest feedback, but a key is not conditional on sending feedback or saying anything positive. The ordinary fair-use rules below still apply.
Your account
- You sign in with a link we email you. Keep access to that email address secure; anyone who can read it can sign in.
- Your account shows your keys and the computers they are on. You can delete it at any time from the account page.
- One account is for one person. Give us an email address you control.
Using your key fairly
A key is for you, or for your own organisation’s computers, up to its limit. Please don’t:
- publish or resell a key, pool one key among unrelated users, or exceed its two-computer limit;
- try to get around the computer limit, the trial or the license checks;
- access accounts or data without permission, disrupt the service, or bypass its security or rate limits.
You may buy a key as a gift or assign a purchased key to its intended user within your organisation. Send just the key, never an email containing a sign-in link, and do not retain use of a key you give away. Contact us if account ownership needs to change. These rules do not restrict rights to transfer software that the law protects. For security research, follow our Security page and ask before testing beyond its scope.
Suspending or disabling a key
We may temporarily restrict an account or key where there are reasonable grounds to suspect fraud, a stolen or publicly leaked key, unauthorised access, attempts to bypass license limits, or activity that threatens the service or other people. A warning sign is a reason to investigate, not proof of wrongdoing. We use account, payment and license activity for this; we do not inspect your screenshots or recordings.
We will keep any restriction proportionate, review it promptly, and normally tell you the reason and how to contact us. We may act without advance notice, or withhold sensitive details, if needed to prevent harm, protect an investigation or comply with the law. Where a problem can be put right, we will normally give you a reasonable opportunity to do that.
We may permanently disable a key after a completed refund or reversed payment, confirmed fraud, or a serious or repeated breach of these terms. A payment dispute alone does not cancel a key while it is being considered, unless there is a separate security or abuse reason to restrict it. If you think we made a mistake, email [email protected] for a human review. We will restore access if the reason for the restriction is not upheld. Suspension does not remove refund or other rights you have by law, and it does not delete captures already saved to your computer or your storage.
Your captures are yours
VizShot does not provide capture storage. Screenshots and recordings stay on your computer, or go directly to storage you connect and control. Using the app gives us no ownership of, or licence to exploit, your captures. If you voluntarily send a capture to support, we use it only to help with your request, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
You remain responsible for what you capture and share, including copyright, confidentiality and any consent required to record other people. Capturing something does not give you rights to someone else’s content. Your storage provider has its own terms and charges. You control bucket permissions and shared links; a public link may let anyone with that link view your capture. Keep backups of anything important.
Reports and feedback you send
You can send us a problem report from the app, feedback as a Founding Tester, or a message to support. None of it is required, and VizShot works the same if you never do. Send only what you have the right to share, and leave out passwords, storage keys, payment details and other people’s private information. We use what you send to answer you and to fix and improve VizShot, as the Privacy Policy explains. If you send a suggestion, we may act on it without owing you anything for it. We will not publish what you send, or use it as a testimonial, without your permission.
The app can also send a daily count of what was used and a short report after a crash, but only while you have “Help improve VizShot” switched on. It is off until you turn it on, you can turn it off at any time, and no feature depends on it.
To keep the service available to everyone, we limit how many reports and counts one network can send, how large each can be and how many we keep at once. A report sent when a limit has been reached may be turned away or kept without its log. Nothing on your computer is lost when that happens, and you can email us instead.
Other companies’ services
Dodo Payments (payment), the Microsoft Store (the Windows app) and your storage provider are run by other companies under their own terms. We aren’t responsible for their services, but we’ll help where we can.
Availability and changes
We work to keep this website and the license service running, but can’t promise they will never be down. An activated app can work offline while its saved activation record is valid, as described in the License Agreement. We may make changes for security, legal, technical or usability reasons, but not to withdraw rights already included in your purchase. We cannot promise indefinite availability of online services. If we plan to end an essential service, we will give reasonable advance notice and explain the effect on your license and any remedies required by law.
Refunds
Ask within 30 days of buying and you get your money back, no questions asked. The Refund Policy has the details.
Warranty and liability
VizShot and this website are provided as they are. We do our best to make them reliable, but we don’t promise they will be free of errors or suit every purpose. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses or lost profit or business, and our total liability arising from a license is limited to the amount you paid for that key. These limits apply only where lawful. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded. Your mandatory consumer rights, including remedies for faulty digital content, remain unchanged.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in law, security or how the service works. We will update the date above and give account holders advance notice of material changes, unless an urgent legal or security change needs to take effect sooner. Changes do not retrospectively reduce the license or update rights included in an existing purchase or grant. Where the law requires your agreement, we will ask for it; merely posting new terms is not a substitute.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes go to its courts. If you are a consumer, you also keep the mandatory protections and any right to bring a claim in the courts where you live. Please contact us first if something is wrong so we can try to resolve it; doing so is not a condition of exercising your legal rights.
