VizShot for Mac is one download that runs on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs. There's nothing to sign up for.

  1. Download VizShot for Mac from the download page.

  2. Open the file you downloaded. It's a disk image (a .dmg). Drag VizShot into your Applications folder.

  3. Open VizShot from Applications. The first time, VizShot shows a short welcome window.

  4. Follow the welcome window to let VizShot see your screen. It takes about a minute. Our guide to letting VizShot see your screen has the details.

What to expect#

VizShot has no window and no Dock icon. It lives in your menu bar, as a small mark of corner brackets round a diamond. Click it to see everything VizShot can do, or press ⌘ ⇧ 2 to take your first screenshot.

Apple has checked VizShot, so macOS opens it without warning you about an unknown developer.

Updates#

The Mac version updates itself. You can turn that off in Settings › Updates. More in how updates work.
