Take your first screenshot
Press the shortcut, drag over what you want, let go. It is copied and saved at once.
Press ⌘ ⇧ 2 on a Mac, or Ctrl Shift 2 on Windows. The screen dims and a crosshair follows your pointer, with a small magnifier to help you aim.
Drag over the part of the screen you want. A size like 412 × 148 shows above the selection. Hold Shift while you drag for a perfect square.
Let go. VizShot copies the capture to your clipboard and saves it as a file, and a small card appears in the corner with the picture and a few buttons.
Paste it anywhere with ⌘ V (Windows: Ctrl V).
Changed your mind halfway? Press Esc or right-click to cancel. Nothing is saved.
What the card does#
The card stays for a few seconds. Edit opens the picture so you can draw on it, Get link uploads it and copies a share link (once you've set up storage; until then it reads Set up links), and Show in Finder (on Windows, Show in Explorer) takes you to the file. Read more in what the little card does.
Where did it go?#
Every capture is saved in your Pictures folder, in a folder called VizShot. Where your screenshots go explains how to change that.
