Where do my screenshots go?

Onto your clipboard and into Pictures › VizShot. They only go online if you set up storage and ask.

On this page
  1. Change the folder
  2. Change the file names
  3. Find an older capture

Every capture does two things straight away: it goes onto your clipboard, ready to paste, and it's saved as a file in a folder called VizShot inside your Pictures folder.

That's all. VizShot never sends a screenshot anywhere unless you set up storage and press Get link or Upload (or turn on upload after every capture).

Change the folder#

Open Settings › Capture, find Save captures to, and press Choose to pick another folder. To go back, press Use the default folder. Press Save at the bottom.

Change the file names#

Files are named like VizShot 2026-10-03 14.05.12.png. You can change that in Settings › Capture › File names. See file names and formats.

Find an older capture#

Open Recent Captures from the menu bar (Windows: the tray) to see your latest 40, or press Open Captures Folder in the same menu. See find an earlier capture.
