Are my links private?
Anyone with a link can open it, but the random name makes links impossible to guess. Treat a link like a secret address.
Anyone who has the link can open the picture. Nobody can guess a link they haven't been given.
Why links can't be guessed#
Every upload gets a random 32-character name. VizShot deliberately doesn't use the date, your computer's name or the original file name, because those are easy to guess, and screenshots are exactly what you don't want a stranger walking through. The 2026/10/ part of the address only keeps your bucket tidy for you.
Links also have to start with https://, so people on the network between you and the reader can't read the name or the picture.
What that means in practice#
Treat a link like a secret address. Anyone you send it to can send it on.
Use a bucket just for VizShot. Share links need the bucket's files to be readable, so don't keep other private files in it.
Take a link back by deleting the file. In your provider's dashboard, delete the picture from your bucket and the link stops working. VizShot never deletes files from your bucket, apart from its own test file.
What we can see#
Nothing. Your pictures go from your computer to your bucket, and we're not in the middle. We never see them, your links or your keys. More in what VizShot sends.
