What VizShot doesn't do

It is a small, focused screenshot app. Here is what is left out on purpose, so you are not surprised.

VizShot does a few things and tries to do them well. Some things it leaves out on purpose.

  • It doesn't host your pictures. For share links, you bring your own storage. That's why VizShot costs $8 once, and not a monthly fee. See how share links work.

  • It doesn't need an account. You paste a key. The account on this site is only where your keys wait.

  • It doesn't show ads or sell your data. See what VizShot sends.

  • It doesn't cost a subscription. One payment, two computers.

  • It doesn't blur to hide things. Redact is a solid block, because a blur can sometimes be undone.

  • It doesn't capture a single window by clicking it. Capture an area and drag around the window.

  • It doesn't upload JPEGs. A screenshot always uploads as a PNG, and a recording as an MP4.

  • It isn't on Linux, iPhone or Android. VizShot is for Mac and Windows.
