Your two computers
A key works on two computers at a time. Move it by removing a computer in your account, or with Deactivate in VizShot.
Each key has two places, one for each computer using it. Mac and Windows are the same: a Mac and a PC use two places.
Set up a new computer#
If both places are taken, free one first, and then activate the key on the new computer. Either of these frees a place:
On the old computer, open Settings › License and press Deactivate. VizShot goes back to the trial there, and the place is free at once.
From your account, if the old computer is gone, broken or out of reach: sign in, find the key, and press Remove beside the computer.
The place is free the moment you remove it, so the new computer can take it right away.
What the old computer does#
A computer you remove drops back to the free trial the next time it checks in, which is within a day, or when you open Settings › License. It keeps taking screenshots. If its 14-day trial is already over, saving, uploading and recording need a key again there, and nothing on it is deleted. You'll see "This Mac was taken off your key, so VizShot is back on the trial." (on Windows it says "This PC").
Good to know#
Reinstalling VizShot, or restoring a backup onto the same computer, doesn't use up a second place.
Copying VizShot's files to another computer doesn't work as a shortcut. A copied app has to be activated like a new one, and takes a place of its own.
You can take computers off a key three times in any 30 days. That's plenty for a new laptop or a repair. If you need more, write to us and we'll free a place for you.
Need more than two? Buy another key.
To see which computers are on a key, check Settings › License ("1 of 2" and See them on the website), or your account page.
