Report a problem from the app
Send feedback from VizShot's menu to say what went wrong. Your note goes with the app's log, and you get a report number.
The quickest way to tell us something broke is Send feedback in VizShot itself. You write what happened, press Send, and get a report number. It's the place for an idea or a wish too.
Send a report#
Click the VizShot icon in the menu bar (or the tray on Windows) and choose Send Feedback…. It's also at the bottom of Settings, as Send feedback.
In the box that asks "What went wrong, or what would make VizShot better?", say what you did, what you expected and what happened instead. A few sentences are enough.
Add your email if you'd like a reply. It's optional. If you have a key, the box starts with the address you bought with, and you can change it or clear it.
Leave Include VizShot's log ticked unless you'd rather not. The log is usually what lets us find the cause.
Press Send. The window stays until the answer is in, then you'll see Sent. Thank you. and a number like
R-7K4Q2M. Press Copy number if you want to quote it later.
If VizShot closed by itself, it asks the next time it opens: "VizShot closed unexpectedly last time", with Report it… and Not now. Report it… opens the same window, and nothing is sent until you press Send. (If you've switched on Help improve VizShot, a short crash report has gone already, so it doesn't ask.)
What goes with your note#
VizShot's version, your system's version and processor type, and the sizes of your screens.
Whether VizShot is on its trial or has a key. Never the key itself.
The end of VizShot's log, if you left it ticked. On a Mac, the start of the system's latest crash report for VizShot goes with it.
Before any of it leaves your computer, VizShot takes out the names of your folders, every link that isn't ours, your storage details, and anything in a crash report that identifies your computer. It can still hold the names of capture files. Show what will be sent opens exactly the text that would go, so you can read it first.
No screenshot, recording or file is ever sent. If a picture would help, email it to [email protected] and quote your report number.
If it won't send#

What happens next#
A person reads every report. If you gave an email and a reply is needed, it comes to that address. We keep a report for 180 days and then delete it. More on this is in what VizShot sends.
