When an upload fails, the capture is still saved on your computer, and the card says Upload failed with the reason. It stays until you close it. Press Try again to have another go.

What the reasons mean#

The reason saysWhat it meansWhat to try
"No storage configured. Add a bucket in Settings."Nothing is set up, or the secret key is missingFinish setting up storage
"The access key or secret was rejected by the provider"The provider doesn't accept the keyCheck the Access key ID and Secret key. Make sure the key is allowed to write to this bucket, and hasn't been deleted or expired
"Bucket or endpoint not found. Check the account ID and bucket name"The bucket isn't where VizShot lookedCheck the bucket's name, and the Account ID (R2) or Region (S3, B2)
"Network error: …"VizShot couldn't connect, or the provider didn't answer within a minuteCheck your internet, a VPN or a firewall, and try again. A very large picture on a slow connection can time out
"Upload failed (301)"The Region doesn't match the bucket'sFix the region
"Upload failed (4xx or 5xx): …"The provider turned the request down and said why, after the numberRead the reason. For a 5xx number, it's usually the provider having a bad moment, so try again later
"The account ID is letters and numbers only." and similarA field has a character it shouldn'tCheck what you pasted. No spaces or slashes

If it was a recording#

A recording goes up in parts, so a failure doesn't lose what was already sent. The player says "Upload stopped at" and how far it got, with the reason. Press Try again and it carries on from there. The video on your computer is untouched. See watch and share a recording.

Test your setup#

Open Settings › Storage and press Test connection. It tells you in plain words what's wrong. See what Test connection tells you.
