VizShot says it can't see your screen
On a Mac, switch VizShot on in Screen & System Audio Recording, then quit and reopen it.
If VizShot shows "VizShot can't see your screen yet", macOS hasn't given it permission, or hasn't applied it yet.
Press Open System Settings on the message. Or open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording yourself.
Switch VizShot on.
Quit VizShot and open it again. macOS only lets an app see the screen after the app starts over. Without this step it keeps saying no, even though the switch is on.
It's switched on, and it still doesn't work#
Try these, in order:
Switch it off and on again in the list, then quit and reopen VizShot.
Remove it and add it back. Select VizShot in the list and press the minus (−) button, then press plus (+), choose VizShot from your Applications folder, and reopen VizShot. macOS sometimes keeps a stale entry for an older copy of the app.
Restart your Mac. It's the oldest trick, and it does clear stuck permissions.
What the permission lets VizShot do#
It lets VizShot see the screen, and only when you ask for a capture. VizShot doesn't watch your screen in the background, and the permission doesn't send anything anywhere. See what VizShot sends.
